UOIT banners mark downtown Oshawa university district
Don't be surprised if you are driving or strolling along the streets of downtown Oshawa and you recognize one or two smiling faces. Just in time for the June graduation 100 banners, featuring 14 UOIT students representing each of the seven faculties, were recently installed on a number of streetlights along segments of King Street, Bond Street, Athol Street, and Simcoe Street. City of Oshawa approves $7.5 million investment in downtown campus expansion
In a major show of support for the University of Ontario Institute of Technology's growing downtown campus initiative, Oshawa City Council recently approved a recommendation to grant $2.5 million in new funding for the project. In addition, the City will reallocate $5 million in funding previously earmarked for recreational facililities at the north Oshawa campus and put that money toward UOIT's downtown expansion. By 2015, UOIT expects to have a downtown campus servicing 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Read more...
A group of 10 FBIT students gain international work experience under the Ontario Global Edge Program
10 Faculty of Business and IT students travelled to Hong Kong to participate in the Ontario Global Edge Program during the 09-10 academic year. The Ontario Global Edge Program gives students a firsthand opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship and the role of small and medium-sized businesses in a global economy. Read more...
