Dr. Jill Lei, MSc (University of Groningen, the Netherlands), PhD (University of Maastricht, the Netherlands), joined the Faculty of Business and Information Technology in January 2006 as an assistant professor in Marketing. She holds an MSc in International Business from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, and a PhD from the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands.
Dr. Lei's research interests are primarily in the areas of brand extensions, cognitive brand networks, and negative spillover effects in brand portfolios. She is also interested in the branding strategies in the emerging markets. Dr. Lei has published in the Journal of Service Research and presented her work in several conferences including Association for Consumer Research (ACR), European Marketing Academy Conference (EMAC), American Marketing Association (AMA), and Frontiers in Services Conference.
Using real-world applications and cases, Dr. Lei integrates theoretical and practical insights into her teaching. She will be teaching courses such as Consumer Behaviour, Branding and Advertising, Marketing Research, and Services Marketing.
