The XOR Lab is an interdisciplinary research laboratory devoted to projects at the convergence of human-computer interaction (HCI), security and privacy. We currently focus on building theoretical models and technical systems for securely managing data in two main areas:
Brain-computer interfaces for user authentication
This program studies new paradigms that exploit the human mind via implicit learning and unaware mental processes to harden the security of computer systems. Experiments include electroencephalogram (EEG) and user reaction analysis.
Child's play privacy in smart toys
This program studies a child-protection framework for smart toys. In this context, a smart toy is defined as a device consisting of a physical toy component that connects to one or more toy computing services to facilitate gameplay in the cloud.
