Background

Dr. Matthew Jelavic is Board Chair, National President and CEO of CIM Chartered Managers Canada, President and Board Chair of the Canadian Society of Professional Engineers, Board Vice-Chair of the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers and Board Director with Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Canada.

He received his doctorate in Business Administration from the Grenoble École de Management in Grenoble, France, and master's degree in Management Sciences from the University of Waterloo. His research and practice areas focus on knowledge, technology, engineering and innovation management.

As an internationally recognized management expert and consultant, he is an expert in the field of corporate leadership, board governance and organizational culture with decades of experience encompassing management and technology within the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors, both private and public.

He is a Licensed Professional Engineer, Chartered Manager and Professor within the School of Science and Engineering Technology at Durham College, where he teaches and conducts applied research in the areas of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid power and physics.
