Background

Hamid Semeralul is an Academic Associate with the Faculty of Business and Information Technology at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. He received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering (Systems Engineering option) from the University of Ottawa and graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (Manufacturing Engineering option) from UOIT. His research topics included improving the quality of novel manufacturing systems via processing parameters' optimization, using big data and artificial intelligence technologies to solve production problems and applying system engineering methods to solve complex technical and business problems. 

Hamid has over thirteen years of experience in instructing, training and managing projects divided between academia and the business world. Recently, he taught Business Forecasting Techniques (BUSI 3450) at FBIT at UOIT. Prior to that, he was a project manager at a nuclear power plant leading projects involving supply chain, process management, financing and cost/schedule forecasting. Hamid also worked as a technical consultant where he championed the creation of novel award-winning Management Information Systems (MIS) that helped nuclear power plants manage multi-year multi-million dollars compliance projects. His tasks also included turning disparate data into actionable information along with training employees and clients in using the MIS.
