Rajen Akalu teaches Legal Environment of Business, and Law and Ethics of IT at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). In 2014 he completed his PhD at Delft Technical University (TU Delft), The Netherlands on the regulation of wireless technology. He holds a Master of Laws degree from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of East London.
Prior to joining UOIT, he worked at the Center for Information Communication Technologies, Denmark Technical University and the Centre for Innovation Law and Policy, University of Toronto Faculty of Law. He has also worked in law firms in New York and Toronto as well as in the offices of the Information Privacy Commissioner (Ontario) and the Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg), Ireland.
His current research interests relate to the privacy implications of vehicular infotainment platforms. This project is funded by the Office the Privacy Commissioner of Canada Contributions program.
